New tracks and new internet connection to allow me download the new tracks.....THANK GOODNESS.
So for free finding day 10 out of the 31 days to a total month we have got (you guessed it)
10 NEW FREE LEGAL TRACKS! :)
Two Mondays worth of Music Mondays from Urban Outfitters' Blog
Now out of these ten the first to catch my eye was by Nice Nice and called See Waves. The track basically sounds like the percussion section from Breaking the Girl by The Red Hot Chili Peppers if it was covered by Portugal. The Man while they experimented with Techno.
Now it may sound abrasive but all i know is after listening to it my darling kitten was totally friendly and in the best mood i've seen in him. So obviously it wasn't too abrasive for a kitten.
Next was Kind of Guy by Yawn. Contradictory to the band name the song was pretty exciting. Maybe not jump up and down party music but still exciting and great. Perfect soundtrack to listen to if somehow you managed to move your TV set and couch into the jungle while wearing a bathrobe ready to do absolutely nothing.
Now i was only going to do three favourites but there was a very distinct end tie for first place. It was between 80/20 (Arms and Sleepers Remix) by Tape Deck Mountain and Evil Lives by Bosco Delrey.
The first of the two sounds like Coldplay did an obscure remix of Talk and passed it through a synth machine.
The second is based on trance beats and may have the most bold opening line for a generally mellow song. "The devil is gonna cut you up"....... Enough said.
Well once again another successful day of searching and lots more to come! :)

See Waves totally took me by surprise despire your description. One of the first things that entered my mind was the scene from Lion King where older Simba is just running...but if someone had hit fast forward. Then it just made me wish I was able to spring for 3 and a half minutes.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean by a jungle feeling from Kind of Guy. The whole time I wanted to bob my head in the same rythme with my eyes closed, one foot stomping and like somewhat hanging off something with the opposite hand. The smooth rainstick moving from one channel to the other was a nice setup for the sudden jump in tempo.
Both songs very entertaining.
The other song that's there, Camera 84 by Growing. One hec of a trip that one. Made me feel like I would be playing some futuristic cartoon-esque game with little robots, but their design would be that of something relatively little children friendly.
...Something like that. XP
ps. Had no idea what the background for April 5th was until I really looked at it. =P
Glad you liked the songs! I think entertaining is the best way to sum both of them up. I feel all of these songs you can't sit and listen to them you have to be doing something. It's very active music which i think is fantastic because it inspires movement opposed to emotion.
